Junior Appalachian Musicians
Presents children in the Appalachian mountains with the opportunity to learn the old time & bluegrass music traditions of our heritage. The Tran-sylvania County chapter began in the fall of 2011, and Celestial Mountain Music is proud to be the instrument provider.
Blue Ridge Old Time Music Week
For 20 years, Mars Hill College has offered classes in old time music during the 2nd week in June. Celestial Mountain Music has been the on-site music vendor for 17 years. Mary has also assisted as a staff musician for the past 5 years.
Transylvania Youth Strings
Was founded by Elizabeth Bahnson and Ellen Lee for the purpose of teaching string music to the children of Transylvania County. They have developed a curriculum for very young students, as well as an after-school program for elementary school children. We provide many violin rentals for this growing program.
